President Tebboune attends inaugural concert of Algiers International Philharmonic Orchestra

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Saturday evening attended the inaugural concert of the Algiers International Philharmonic Orchestra at the Algiers Opera House "Boualem Bessaïh," marking the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November 1st Revolution.
After listening to the national anthem, President Tebboune followed the Orchestra’s first concert in the presence of senior State officials, members of the government and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.
The concert, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts under the title "Algeria... A Timeless Symphony," forms part of efforts to enhance Algeria’s cultural and artistic standing and showcase its musical heritage.
Conducted by maestro Amine Kouider, the concert was organized in three parts. The first, titled "Patriotic Songs," included the patriotic songs "Min Jibalina," "Djazairouna Ya Bilad El Djoudoud," "Ya Shaheed El Watan" and "Min Ajlik Ichna Ya Watani," along with music from the films "Patrol in the East" and "The Battle of Algiers."
The second part, titled "Masterpieces of Classical Music," featured works from the international repertoire: "Also sprach Zarathustra" by Johann Strauss, Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, Beethoven’s "Ode to Joy," and the overture to Glinka’s opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila."
The third part featured Algerian classics, including "Thank God, There Is No More Colonialism in Our Country," "Shahla Layani," "Wahran Wahran," "Billah Ya Hammami," "Amdyaz" and "Tenere, Symphony of the Sand," and closed with Saint-Saëns’s "Bacchanale."
In remarks at the opening of the event, conductor Amine Kouider thanked the President of the Republic, on his own behalf and on behalf of all Algerian musicians at home and abroad, saying that the orchestra is "the project of the President of the Republic."
The orchestra is "a cultural project, an artistic project and a civilizational project," he added.
At the close of the concert, President Tebboune posed for a commemorative photo with Minister of Culture and the Arts Malika Bendouda, conductor Amine Kouider and all the members of the orchestra.
The Algiers International Philharmonic Orchestra was formally created by decision of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune at an earlier Council of Ministers meeting.
The project has had the backing of the country’s top authorities as a strategic cultural initiative meant to develop symphonic music and raise Algeria’s profile on the international cultural scene.
The orchestra comprises 70 musicians and is led by maestro Amine Kouider, who is in charge of the artistic, musical and administrative direction of this national project.
